Airflow Management

Masteringthe Air.

Aerodynamics is one of the most significant factors influencing the performance of a Formula One in Schools race car. Every surface of our vehicle is carefully designed to minimise drag while maintaining stable airflow throughout the entire length of the chassis.

Using computational fluid dynamics and iterative design, we analyse how air behaves around every component before manufacturing begins. This process allows us to identify areas of turbulence, improve airflow efficiency, and make informed engineering decisions that contribute to greater overall performance.

  • 01Computational fluid dynamics used throughout every design stage
  • 02Multiple design revisions improve aerodynamic efficiency
  • 03Every surface is refined to minimise drag and improve airflow
  • 04Performance is validated through simulation, manufacturing, and testing

Front-Face Pressure Distribution

Understanding pressure across the vehicle allows us to improve aerodynamic balance while reducing unnecessary resistance. Pressure mapping highlights areas that require further optimisation, helping us produce smoother airflow across the entire race car.
