We are a team of students united by a shared passion for engineering, innovation, and problem solving.
Singapore Slingshot was established in 2024 (Halo Racing) with the ambition of competing at the highest level of STEM Racing while developing the technical and professional skills required for the future.
Our journey extends far beyond designing a fast race car. Every challenge encourages us to think critically, communicate effectively, and continuously improve. Through engineering, enterprise, and teamwork, we are building knowledge that reaches well beyond the competition.

Sling Racing is a STEM Racing (formerly known as F1 in Schools) team. STEM Racing is a global STEM competition where students design, build, and race miniature Formula 1 cars powered by compressed air. Teams use engineering, CAD design, manufacturing, and project management skills to compete in regional, national, and world finals. The program helps students develop real-world technical skills, teamwork, and problem-solving while connecting them with the motorsport industry. At Sling Racing, our goal is to win. Three of our team members have raced as part of former team Halo Racing, which forms the core of our heritage.
Sling Racing has a deep meaning behind it. Precision. Bravery. Speed. The name Singapore Sling is inspired by the force of an object flying out of a slingshot; this is similar to the launch of our STEM Racing cars. The team name is also inspired by Singapore Grand Prix's infamous Turn 10, known for being able to end someone's race. It requires focus to get right every time—the same as our cars. It is also a corner that can be pushed to the limits. Everything we do, we are bold.

The Timeline
The Beginning
Singapore Slingshot was founded by a group of students with a shared interest in engineering and Formula One. During our first season we established team roles, developed our identity, and began designing our first STEM Racing race car.
Developing Our Skills
Our focus shifted towards improving our engineering process through CAD modelling, aerodynamic analysis, manufacturing techniques, and enterprise development. Every new iteration strengthened our understanding of professional engineering.
Building for Competition
With greater experience and stronger teamwork, we continue refining our race car while expanding our technical capabilities, sponsorship opportunities, and competition readiness. Every improvement moves us closer to achieving our long term goals.
